Na Tikahtnu K'Tiya Summer Camp

CITC’s Na Tikahtnu K’Tiya (Cook Inlet Bull Moose) is a summer cultural enrichment camp for Alaska Native and American Indian youth ages 12-18.

CITC’s K’Tiya camp provides youth an opportunity to learn culturally traditional activities, explore environmental education, practice group dynamic and conflict resolution styles, and develop work ethic in a rural camp setting in Ninilchik, Alaska.

Campers learn about subsistence fishing, catching and processing their catch on-site. They also participate in activities such as:

  • Clam digging
  • Drum making, carving and beading
lessons from Elders
  • Traditional Native games
  • Swimming and canoeing

Campers learn responsibility and teamwork by working together on meals, camp cleanup, games and other tasks. Transportation, food, and shelter are provided at no cost. Camp sessions are offered every summer, and each camp has a capacity to serve 20 to 22 youth.
