Child Care Assistance Program

The Child Care Assistance Program provides financial assistance to Alaska Native and Native American families in need of daycare services for their children.

The Child Care Assistance Program provides assistance to approved families through a certificate system. Certificates may be utilized in a variety of child care categories including center-based, family home, group home, and in-home care.

Who is eligible?

  • Either the parent or child(ren) must be Alaska Native or Native American.
  • Income eligibility is determined using a sliding fee scale *parents are responsible for paying a percentage of child care costs.
  • Parents must be working or in training at least 20 hours per week, or enrolled in higher education at least part-time.
  • Applicants must reside in the Cook Inlet Region service area.

Child care payments are made directly to the child care provider. Parents are required to submit monthly pay stubs or timesheets before payments are issued.
