All scholarships are offered for eligible students that have demonstrated need, have met the eligibility requirements and have complete applications as funding is available at the deadline. Please review the applications and eligibility requirements prior to applying.

The Tribal Training Grant (TT)  program helps eligible Alaska Natives and American Indians residing within the Cook Inlet Region obtain short-term certification or vocational training for job enhancement and/or employability.

Funding is need-based and available on a first-come, first-completed basis and is not intended to cover the full cost of training.
The Tribal Higher Education Scholarship (THE) program provides scholarship awards for eligible Native CIRI shareholders and direct lineal descendants of Original Enrollees pursuing higher education from an accredited college, university or training facility. 

Important! Tribal members of Chickaloon, Kenai, Knik, Ninilchik, Salamatof, and Tyonek must apply directly through their village scholarship programs prior to applying for this scholarship.

Deadlines are
June 1st for Fall, and December 1st
for Spring.

The Alyeska Match Scholarship (AM) is provided by Cook Inlet Tribal Council in agreement with the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. Eligible Alaska Native students must be enrolled in majors specified by Alyeska. These funds help prepare the recipient for an opportunity to be considered for employment on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS). 

A combined application, Tribal Higher Education (THE) & The Alyeska Match (AM) Combination Application is available below for those students who qualify for both scholarships.

Please Note!  Elibible fields of study for the current Academic Year are as follows:

  • Business
  • Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Safety, Engineering Technology
  • IT / SCADA: IT Certifications, Marketing, Graphic Design, AAS/BA/BS Degrees
  • Planner / Scheduler:  Accounting, Finance, Economics, Math / Statistics - Engineer Majors
  • Process Technology
  • Safety: Occupational Safety and Health, Chemistry, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

Deadlines are June 1st for Fall, and December 1st for Spring.

The Mellen Shea Memorial Scholarship (MSM) was developed to provide financial assistance to Alaska Native and American Indian students who are pursuing a postsecondary degree in Education and aspiring to be a teacher. Scholarship award selection criteria are based upon timely submission of a complete applicant form, as well as the quality and sincerity of the written essay.   

Deadline is May 1st Annually.
